Westlife fans around the world have responded en-masse to an exclusive Twitter announcement that top Irish boy-band Westlife are to take over RTÉ 2fm for the station’s first ever Westlife Day. Monday Bank Holiday May 3rd will see all four Westlife members take the DJ hot-seat in 2fm’s Dublin studios for three full and exclusive 2fm shows. Nicky and Shane will take the 9-12 slot, while Mark and Kian will take the 5-7 slot. Meanwhile the entire band will take over the 12 to 3 slot on the day.
Westlife’s Nicky Byrne made Irish web-history recently when his 2fm Celebrity Sunday slots trended at #3 worldwide on Twitter.
